Runsite : Seri Alam

Aiyo! Not again? Scribe! Scribe!(by Saturday???-ooops,,, it’s my turnlah) I seriously did not have any freaking idea on what I should write………..I got a call from a few members before the run, asking me about the weather in Seri Alam- I told them it’s a “FINE” weather with thunder & lightning. When I reached the runsite around 5pm, it was just drizzling. So far so good huh! Luckily I was well prepared, wearing longs instead of shorts.(sure kaki basah 1).A few guys just started kicking their sepak takraw. I was mingling around with a few senior hashers, by now, more & more members arrived. In spite of the heavy downpour earlier on, this does not seem to dampen the hashing spirit of the members & guests. This augurs well for our future runs.(rain or shine)

Finally, the bugles blared sharply at 6pm announcing the start of the fox hunt.(No, no it was not the start of the fox hunt but the start of our ever eager weekly run!)As usual, we would see the FRB all sprinting away like Usian Bolt(the world 100 metres champ) not realising that it was not a 100 metres race, but a word of caution to all this eager FRB , you’d have a long, long way ahead when the trail was laid by Mongol & gang. Following the FRB, came the SCB- some running, some walking fast & as usual some of them were just strolling (gossiping I presumed).

Then came the 1st check, downhill, uphill & everyone were just standing there-looking like lost souls. After about 10 mins, the FRBs finally found the check. What more, just follow lah, then came the big enormous puddle of water with mud(yucky!)Mainly everyone were just walking up & down the hill due to the traffic jam earlier on. About 2km ahead, I followed the ‘SIGNAL’ to turn right to god knows where.(should be the right way-‘GPS ‘) We were moving ahead, soon later I found out there were like 20 or more of us & guess what, we were led by our GM & the ever loud mouthed Coca Cola halfway through. We went through a wild boar trail, Bangladeshi settlement, Indonesian settlement & etc…….. Finally we came to a straight red mud trail. Our GM & Coca Cola kept on shouting for me to run faster in order to get our ‘GPS’ back on track. While on the way out to the runsite, we saw the ever loving KCB & partner dating the Hindustani way. Anyway, we managed to reach the runsite at about 7.15pm.(not too bad …)

We were treated with mee siam, babi & a few kuih-muih at the runsite. While we were enjoying our spoils, the FRB came out 1 by 1 at around 7.30pm & complained about not finding the 2nd check. They too took shortcuts & came out at 7.30pm? If they were to find the 2nd & 3rd checks, I think it would be around the same time(9pm) as last week during MMT & Flinstone’s run. Are the runs getting longer or are we just getting slower? Well, next week will be my run- I can’t promise whether it will be the same kind of run or not. Anyway, I’ll try my very best .Caution to fellow hashers & harriets-please don’t forget to bring your torchlight!

The circle was called by the GM at 8.03pm.As usual the hares of the day(Sex Can & Dirty Monk) & their co-hares were put on ice.GM called for the mystery hash whip(Handsome) to take the floor due to our permanent hash whip’s(Jack Ass) absence. A few members were summoned to be on ice for various offences .Coca Cola achieved her 400 runs & were also on down.

On on was at Bai Her Restaurant, Taman Molek.(very far leh).Taman Molek , no place to run huh? Or areas around Seri Alam does not have restaurants? The hares ordered 2 barrels of draft ‘ORR KAU’ & 2 bottles of Dimple with 6-7 course dinner (I can’t rememberlah berapa course).Obviously the ‘ORR Kau’ banyak laku!By 10.30pm sudah HABIS.End of the day, makan was FOC. (To the Hares of the day- DOMO Arigato!)

REHASH NO. 2167 DATED 21/04/2010
HARES: MOH MUN TAI & FLINSTONE
RUNSITE: LIMA KEDAI

4.00pm:---THANK GOD IT'S WEDNESDAY. Hashing time again. Got up after a good afternoon nap and it was time to get ready for hash. Before that, need to make a few calls to my coffee soulmates.

5.00pm:---COFFEE TIME. New runsite meant new place for coffee. Arrived at Kedai Lima and only managed to meet up with Mongol. As usual, had a few hash gossiping tale before heading towards the runsite. Surprise! surprise! No hash sign was put up at this new runsite and a few early birds, eg wonderwoman, had gone passed it and had to u turn back. Parking area was quite limited considering Wednesday Hash is a big chapter and the popularity of the two Hares had also attracted a large number of guests. Before the run, the Hares gathered all the hashers to announce that there were 4 checks and 3 hills in total and the 3rd check had a mystery drink enough for the first 10 FROPs.

6.00pm:---ON! ON! Sharp at 6.00pm, Flinstone, the Hare started the run. The FROPs were eagered to compete and were seen charging pass the nursery and heading towards the first mini hill. Thinking that they would be the first fews to taste what the Hares had provided for them. They were soon realized that it was not that easy!!! SCBs were taking it easy and were strolling in and around the hugh nursery to get their usual 1 hour workout.

7.00pm:---ONSITE. The usual 1 hour run would see the FROPs streaming in from the home trial but today it was not to be and the only one back were the SCBs. The 2nd group of SCBs, led by Mongol, were seen running in 1/2 hour later. Even the usual front runners like Ironman, Kongkek(guest), G-string etc were shortcutting - reason being very difficult 2nd check and it was getting dark. By now, 60% of the runners were back but there were still another 40 brave hashers running in the dark.

8.00pm:---THE CIRCLE. Where were the Circle? No government!! All the senior committee members were not back yet!! Then we saw the 1st FROP running in. Guessed who? Monbil One and followed by LowChee. Without much hesitation, Mobil One and Flinstone, took their 4x4 to rescue the BROPs. By now an incomplete circle had been formed and realizing how bored they were, MohMunTai took the floor, joined by Loudspeaker, and began singing the hash songs. Rookie JM LanSi came back at 8.30pm and started the circle. The Hare, minus Fliinstone, and their Co-Hares were duly iced and on down!! Followed by more Co-Hares. Well! well! well! Too many cooks spoil the soup. Exactly, local breed KweiLoh should realize early when you had too many masterminds in the mist, the run usually lengthened. More on down for the Hare and his Co-hares when the Whip tookover. However, the Whip was in turn iced and on down by acting GM for not following the proper procedure by handling over the floor to MohMunTai instead of acting GM.

9.00pm:---HASH DINNER. Circle closed? Not to be! GM and all her sidekicks just got back by the 4x4 and was very anguished to punish the Hares for setting such a long run. MohMunTai and Flinstone were immediately summon to sit on ice. Instead of 3 hills according to the Hares, there were 5 hills she claimed and the last one is more like a mountain, even higher than mount KK.
And the mystery drink turned out to be an adultered coconut juice and one of her comrade almost fainted after consuming it. Fortunately, fellow senior hasher from Batu Pahat Bulldozer came to the rescue. The Thank You song was extended to both Bulldozer and Original. Also, to another guest, Lee, with his Touchlight, saved our JM LanSi. The circle finally closed..

10.00pm:--HASH RESTAURANT. Finally we were at the restaurant and with 8 tables full of hungry hashers. Food had to wait cos the Hares had provided us with the very delicious dark fluid to be consumed first. It was indeed very nice. 8 course dinner were then served. More golden fluid, in fact 3 bottles per table, were ordered for hashers who were not keen on dark draft. The enjoyment continued.

11.00pm:--HASH COST. Every goodthing has to come to an end sooner or later. But tonight, the end never ends cos the Hares were so happy that they ordered to open another barrel of Hitam Manis and more Carlsbergs were also ordered. At the end, it was all FOC. The Hares were duly on down for their generosity. Thank you.

12.00pm/am:--HASH GOODNIGHT. By now, many hashers had left for home. And it was time for GM table and rightly so, 2 table full of hard cores continued to enjoy the drink until finally...........

01.00am:---LAST MEN STANDING. The last foursome, Flinstone, Big Potato, LowChee and your truly, still drinking. However, we still couldnot finish the beer and at the end the last 2 (only 2 left after so many) had to be surrendered. ON!! ON!! See you next Wednesday.

ReHash of Run Number 2166
Venue: Taman Pulai Utama
Date : 14/4/10
Hares : Chapalan & Condom

Preamble
Well this was a new venue for me. It took all the horsepower of my Turbocharged Subaru to get to the run on time. Hash signs were set up very well, but it still seemed a little bit too close to the heart of this new city area for a hash run. Nevertheless a good crowd showed up and all were flagged off promptly at 6 o’clock. Recent afternoon rains promised a slippery trail and some paper searches. We were not to be disappointed on either account.

The Run
As we charged into the palm plantation we moved generally downhill and forded several streams before we turned back from what was a fairly long loop and headed to the highway. The first check was easily broken by Assasin and his gang and we all moved into new area passing through a tunnel underneath the highway. There the second check was broken and we moved into palm estates and more and more river crossings before we began to slowly turn right and back toward the highway where we passed through a lobang by bending over and grabbing ankles, or doing the elephant walk. Surely we were headed home now.
This was not to be the case as we all headed into another loop through stone quarries, and twists and turns to the 3rd check which simply completed this loop and started another one. My GPS was already showing 9 KM and home was far far away. What to do lah. It was getting dark and the snakes were coming out, not the one-eyed spitting kind, but a real cobra crossed right in front of me, just after Kapilan passed it without even seeing it. I had to put the brakes on in full to keep from stepping on the damn thing. Seeing cobras on the run has all sorts of nasty and evil portent, so I vowed to maintain my sobriety for the night and be sure to get home safely.
Regardless, we trudged along with darkening skies and difficult footing. I finally landed home in about 1 hour 30 minutes and 11+ km on the GPS. However the most interesting thing in looking at the trail?? later we had run almost a perfect 4 leaf clover with 4 large loops, this must have been a belated St. Paddy Day run and we were not informed.
As it got increasingly darker, runners came home by dribs and drabs, until the GM finally made her appearance. All took their showers and were ready for the circle by 8:15.

The Circle
This was more of a flattened oval than a circle as we were blocked in with cars and a 2 lane carriageway. The hare’s were appropriately iced and castigated for this extremely long and somewhat foul run. The GM also did some additional whipping before handing over to the whip. All sorts of miscreants were iced, but unfortunately the details are lost as the writer seemed to have forgotten about his cobra encounter and imbibed heavily of the drink. Suffice it to say that after placing many asses on ice, we celebrated run records, and introduced a guest that claimed So Big for her uncle, and concluded with some witty remarks by Moh Man Tai that absolutely no one understood. Then it was off to the restoran 1186 that was fortunately just down the road. We all received good food, and good beer from the hares. Despite the fact the GM left early, there was at least one table that partied until the cows come home. Fortunately the cobra jinx did not affect me and I arrived home safely.

Thank to the hares for a good and challenging event. Best Regards,

MMT
