After a heavy downpour in the afternoon, the rain finally stopped. Alas, the sepak takraw gang can start kicking again. One noticeable absence was the co hare ,Hamper King. His hamper kingdom is sprouting like mushrooms around Johor Bahru and this inadvertently canned his free time…..

The terrain was still wet, very very wet. Even as we enter across the open land towards the railway track, it was becoming more of an offroad adventure. Shoes were already muddy and wet by the time we got to the railway track. First check was an easy affair, however, within 300 metres of that we came to a flooded stream, chest deep and swift flowing. Many stopped at this point but our Moh Man Tai, without second thoughts, immediately jumped in and waded across. He was swept at least 25 feet downstream before making it across. Our Lat Bumper was next, with his long legs, he almost managed to leap across. Others almost made the jump, landed into the water and waded across. Out Lan Si was swept away and came up the same side…. In all , only 9 made it across. Others backed up or found alternative route.

The was no way to check further, trail paper was swept by the rain and can hardly be seen. One of the co hares, Bulldozer had to lead the way instead. However, his sub level IQ led us like a bumper car odyssey. In the last two kilometers of the trail, the terrain was fully submerged in knee deep water. We had to use the trees as guides and waded at least a good kilometer before finding high ground and the trail back across the railway track to the runsite. In many years of hashing, I would say that this was one of the most fun and memorable run(swim) we ever had…..

The circle was called to order at 8.00pm and again our GM Bulldog, Interhash Lonkang and Hash Whip Handsome committed to their duty. Most punishment were directed at the stream crossing incident. One note worth mentioning was that beer was sold out by 8.20 pm ?? Maybe the GM should take note, how can the oldest hash in JB be out of beer before sunset ?

Restaurant 63 was the place we rewarded ourselves with good food. The hares also made it free makan…..
