THE APRIL FOOLS RUN

The site for this April Fools’ Day Run was at Taman Perindustrian Berjaya (Indec) where one the hares, IRONMAN has his workshop; the other half is WONDERWOMAN. Unfortunately this veteran pair laid a run with a head and a tail but no thorax! The frontrunners couldn’t locate the Second Check’s connection and so the midriff was lost. The majority of the runners joined the SCBs and landed straight on the Third Check and headed home after the palm loading-bay. The run started with great promise heading towards the left of the palm plantation with the maladour of a nearby chicken farm permeating through the cool air. In typical fashion there were numerous walking contingents in all directions; as what some Chinamen say, ‘whole-mountain full of people!’ This perhaps added to the checking mayhem and threw the checkers into disarray at the crucial Second Check resulting in the snafu. The home trail came through the palm-rubber divide behind Kampong Sinaran Baru. All was over in less than 55 minutes.

CIRCLE saw the introduction of the Hash Shit for the serious offender to wear around the neck like the Ancient Mariner’s albatross! The new regime seems to be full of new ideas. Let’s hope the members are receptive of these reforms and fully appreciate the hashing culture behind it. Whip Handsome was a little sexist, catching the fair maidens most of the time; the GM Bulldog stepped in boldly and penalised a few macho offenders whom the Whip was too timid to accost! The evening’s proceedings rounded up with Loudspeaker calling everyone to be upstanding for a minute’s silence as a mark of respect to our dear departed ex-GM (1978-19789 Ku Kim Hock (Sam) who passed away last week. RIP.

The On-On was at the Kampong Restaurant in Impian Emas where we took up 8 tables; due to the GM’s cunningness he was able to con the two new members to but two bottles per table for the impending change of their evil-sounding hash-handles! The grub here I must admit was very mediocre and 10 per head was collected before one and all called it a night; all except the drinking tribe!
